[ステートメント]

言語優位になってしまったわれわれ大人は、造形そのものを味わうだけでは物足りず、それが何を意味するかまで読み解かずにはいられない。まるで「内容」にこそ作品の本質があり、「形式」はその手段にすぎないとでもいうように。もしも今日そのような謎解きを芸術に求めているなら、お探しの展示はきっとここにはないだろう。ここにあるのは、ギャラリーの「形式」を借りた遊びの形跡のみである。

個展名はスーザン・ソンタグ『反解釈』の一節「解釈からの逃亡」に倣い、「逃亡者」とした。芸術家はいかにして解釈から逃亡できるだろう。

先月、SNS 上で強制立ち退きについての記事を目にする機会があり、そのとき目にした、次々に開発され姿を変えていく街並みの中で、取り壊されなかった一軒家がぽつんと道路の真ん中に佇んでいる様子を捉えた写真は、単純に不自然で面白いと感じると同時に、「つくられた常識」に適応できなかった（とされた）路上生活者などを彷彿とさせます。

いわゆるスラムやホームレスは一般的に敬遠され、社会から追害される風潮が根強い存在にあります。彼らは一見無秩序な集団のように思えますが、そこでは人と人との強い関わりがあり、秩序があり、またその不自由さ故の自由があるのです。

生き物は食料となり、使い古された廃材を繋ぎ合わせて作られた住宅や即席の生活用品、雨風等の影響を受けないよう壁を覆うブルーシートや熱を保つダンボールの布団。グラフィティやステッカーで覆われた街。例えばフォークは私達が食事する為の道具ですが、ここでは「くし｣として使用する事もできます。不思議な事に、それは子供が童心のままに秘密基地を作るのと同じような感覚で、またそうせざるを得ない状況で、かつての製品が本来の用途になぞらえずに、しかし生活·日常を回しているという点で本来の役割を果たしています。もはやそれは常識という効能を持たず、民族などの異文化などに通ずる独自のコミュニティが形成されているとも言えるでしょう。そういった自分の手で考えモノを作りあげていく行為には、確かなイノベーションが存在するのではないでしょうか。自身の制作において私もそういうふうに、純粋な造形を繰り返して自分の手で考え、見たものを作品に落とし込められれば。そういった想いがきっかけとなり、彫る、削る、引っ掻く、盛るなどの直接的な表現でストレートに絵画造形を行いたいと考えるようになりました。

表現者としてまだまだ未熟ですが、ぜひ実際に作品と感覚との対話を楽しんでいただければと思います。

Last month, I had the opportunity to read an article on social networking sites about forced evictions, and I saw a photo of a house that had not been demolished standing alone in the middle of the street in a cityscape that was being developed and transformed one after another. At the same time, it reminds us of people living on the streets who have failed to adapt to the "created norm.

Slums and homeless people are generally shunned and ostracized by society. At first glance, they may seem to be a disorderly group, but there is a strong relationship between people, order, and freedom because of their inconvenience.

Living creatures are used as food, houses are made by piecing together used and discarded materials, improvised livingware, blue sheets cover the walls to protect them from the wind and rain, and cardboard bedding keeps the heat in. Cities covered with graffiti and stickers. A fork, for example, is a tool we use to eat, but here it can also be used as a "comb. Strangely enough, it is like a child building a secret base with a child's mind, or being forced to do so, without likening the former product to its original use, but still fulfilling its original role in turning life - everyday life - into a reality. It can be said that these products no longer have the efficacy of common sense, and that a unique community has been formed that is similar to that of different cultures, such as ethnic groups. I believe that there is a certain innovation in the act of thinking and creating things with one's own hands. In my own work, I hope to repeat such pure modeling, thinking with my own hands, and incorporating what I see into my work. These thoughts have led me to want to create paintings and sculptures in a straightforward manner using direct expressions such as carving, scraping, scratching, and heaping.

Although I am still in my infancy as an artist, I hope that you will enjoy the dialogue between my work and your senses.

長らく広告映像作家として活動した後に現代美術と出会い、絵具を「再現を阻むノイズ」と位置付け、あえて具象と抽象の境をゆく表現を追求しています。

独特のゆらぎある絵画は、読み解く行為を鑑賞者に強いることとなり、同時に、疑え、見つめ直せ、熟考せよ、と訴えます。

近年は気候危機問題に意識を向け、国家および作家自身をも含む私たち個々人に絵画を通して問題提起を行っています。

After working as an advertising filmmaker for a long time, he encountered contemporary art and positioned paint as "noise that prevents reproduction." He dares to pursue an expression that straddles the border between figuration and abstraction.

His unique fluctuating paintings force the viewer to read and decipher them, and at the same time, urge the viewer to doubt, rethink, and contemplate.

In recent years, he has turned his attention to the climate crisis, and through his paintings, he raises issues for us as individuals, including the nation and the artist himself.

家の近くに大きな川の分流が流れている

水が多い日も、少ない日もある

家の方から見たとき、左から右に流れるはずの水が

ときどき逆流している

大きな鯉の骨が土に還っていく

昼すぎどき、橋とわたしの影が水の上に塗られる

水のかたちに沿って小さく揺られているのを

はっと知覺する

その心地よさの中にあるわたしを認識する

果てしなく自由だ。

水が枯れているのを見たことがない

その、安心感。

いつどんなときにも水がある

その道理をじぶんにも投影したい

じぶんの存在をただ感じること

言わばその世界を、認知して、受け容れたいのだ。

—ひとのことが、とても好き

愛しく尊いと思うとともに、大嫌いで憎くて恥ずかしい、そして可哀想だと思うことがある

尊大だと思われるだろうか

けれど、だからこそなんだ

自分が人間であることを悦びたい。

或いは、この、感じたことをないものにしたくない

表出しなければ忘れていく

留める、残す、まずわたしが覺えておく

そうすることで報われる自分が居る

自分を肯定しつづけている

せかいとかみ合わない自分を殺したくないから

私は自分を生きたいから。

私が絵を描いているのは、そうやってどうしようもないときもあるし、そのどうしようもなさを確認したいときもあるからか。

そして自然であり、祈りのような支えなんだろう。

There is always water, no matter what time of day

I want to project that principle onto myself

Simply feeling one's own presence

We want to recognize and accept the world, so to speak.

-I love people very much.

I love and respect them, but I also hate, loathe, am ashamed of, and feel sorry for them.

Will they think me pompous?

But that's why.

I want to revel in the fact that I am human.

Or, I don't want this, this feeling to be something that isn't there

If we don't express it, we forget it.

I steel myself first to hold on, to preserve

And I'm rewarded for doing so.

I keep affirming myself.

I don't want to kill myself because I don't fit in with the world

Because I want to live my life

Am I painting because sometimes I can't help it that way, and sometimes I want to confirm that helplessness?
